Details: Released in 2014. Under two hours long. Stars Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill.
If you enjoyed 21 Jump Street (the movie), then you will enjoy this. It’s more of the same.
Instead of infiltrating high school, Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum must now infiltrate college and tackle all the college film clichés they find.
As with 21 Jump Street, there were just as many jokes that fell flat as there were jokes that worked. With that said, there were many scenes that made me laugh out loud. It’s a mixed bag of good and bad comedy. Expect to find the same overly silly, self-aware, meta humor that you saw in 21 Jump Street.
Tatum and Hill are, again, great together and continue with their great comedic chemistry in this film. The two are not afraid to be completely fucking stupid on-screen and it helps the movie.
Overall, I enjoyed this light hearted, silly comedy. After watching the film, I did a search for a potential sequel. Unfortunately, it looks like this franchise is dead for now. That’s really too bad. I would have loved to see Tatum and Hill join the Men In Black.
