Details: Aired in 2016 on ABC. The season is twenty-two episodes long and each episode is about forty minutes without commercials.
I’ve said this before about this series and I’ll say it again, this season was the best season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. yet. No spoilers as always.
This season can be divided into three parts or story arcs. The first story arc introduces and focused on the Ghost Rider. The second arc focused more on the development of LMD’s, or life model decoys, and the dangers they present. The third and final story arc centered on something called the Framework. I won’t say more about that.
I loved that they brought Ghost Rider into this season and thought they did him justice. What’s worth noting is that they used the newer, Hispanic version of the Ghost Rider, not the original character that Nicholas Cage played in his Ghost Rider movies. I think because the first arc focused on the Ghost Rider, it was the strongest of all three story arcs. With that said, they all had some good plot twists and character development. The action was good as well as the use of special effects.
Overall, it’s a great show and it is unsurprising that it was renewed for a fifth season. I recommend anyone with a passing interest in the Marvel movies or comic books to watch it.
