Details: Located at 62 W 56th St, New York, NY 10019. I couldn’t find and official site so here’s there Yelp page https://www.yelp.com/biz/k-bap-new-york
K-Bap is a home style Korean restaurant in midtown Manhattan. That means that they serve the Korean classics like kimbap, japchae, bibimbap, bulgogi and galbi, etc.
I’ve had the kimchee bibimbap (cost $14.00) and the bulgogi combo box (cost $16.00, comes with bulgogi which is marinated beef, comes with a daily side dish and japchae).
The kimchee bibimbap was pretty terrible. It was one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made. If you’re a vegetarian, you might like it excluding the sliced egg that came with it. It was just a bowl of cold vegetables and kimchee. I do not recommend it and I would also avoid the other bibimbaps.
The combo box was good. The japchae was good as was the bulgogi. A lot of times with bulgogi, they overload the dish with onions. There were onions here, but not too many. The only issue with the combo box was that it was sixteen dollars and there are other lunch options in the area that are cheaper.
I had my food to go, but the interior is comfortable. Nothing fancy, but still a good environment of exposed brick, dim and warm lighting, and wooden tables and some benches as well. The staff was also nice.
Overall, I enjoyed this place and recommend it. Avoid the bibimbap.
