Curry Bo is a Japanese curry food stall that opened in Flushing. During my trip here, this place felt like they were still getting their bearings as a business.
I ordered the number one, or the pork katsu curry. That’s white rice with a fried pork cutlet with a heavy helping of curry sauce. Japanese curry is not like Indian curry. It’s thinner, a little more watery, and full of pepper flavor. It costs eleven dollars.
What’s good about the meal was that the curry sauce tasted good and the pork cutlet was surprisingly good quality. They fry each pork cutlet to order so eat order seemingly takes a while. Add into that time that the employees were seemingly being trained during my visit and my wait time ended up being almost ten to twenty minutes. Further, there are no side dishes. I think that’s how Japanese curry is supposed to be, but I would’ve liked some vegetables or something on the side.
Overall, a decent place for unusually good Japanese curry. It is a little pricey as it’s a food court stall priced at eleven dollars. It’s still good though.
