Qing Dao Restaurant is a shady looking Chinese restaurant with dirty, dimly lit seating area in the back and a display area in the front where they sell baked goods.
I didn’t eat in the back because it looked dirty, the food didn’t look appetizing, and the price was a dollar or so above what I was willing to spend. They have cold dishes and they also have a menu full of hot dishes. They also have dumplings. If you feel like trying it out, go ahead. Personally, it’s way to dark and dirty for me to explore.
In the front they sell various Chinese snacks and baked goods. I ordered some of their puffed pastry filled with radish, red bean, and minced meat with curry. They ranged from $1.25 to $1.75 and everything was cold. They have no method of keeping these things warm. I also got some sticky rice wrapped in a leaf (cost $2.50) and was tempted to get a roast chicken leg. Again, everything was cold so I’m glad I didn’t.
Overall, I’d probably advise staying away from this place. There are other places in Flushing that sell similar goods, but those are indoor and are likely to have warmer food.
