Video Game Review: Assassin’s Creed Origins: The Hidden Ones

Details: Spent about six hours playing through this. More information can be found at https://www.ubisoft.com/en-gb/game/assassins-creed-origins/ and https://store.ubi.com/ie/assassin-s-creed-origins—the-hidden-ones/5a5e11ee88a7e3b6351233e3.html

Score: 6.8/10

The Hidden Ones is a piece of downloadable content (or DLC for short) that adds a new area to Assassin’s Creed: Origins. It’s relatively short and doesn’t add anything to the gameplay. Otherwise, it’s fine.

The Hidden Ones picks up some time after the end of the base game. The Sinai Peninsula comes under attack from the Romans’ oppression and Bayek must go to Sinai to help.

The main quest is pretty short. You basically kill four people… and that’s it. You could probably get through it in about three hours or so. There are some side quests and objectives on the map for you to take care of. The new map isn’t that amazing to look at.

Overall, it’s just more of the same. Nothing new, nothing inspired, and no big plot developments. If you enjoyed Origins, you’ll enjoy The Hidden Ones since it just gives you more to do.

Score: 6.8/10
