And Pixar has done it once again. I keep expecting them to mess up this franchise like they did their other franchises (Incredibles II was low impact, Inside Out was meh, never saw The Good Dinosaur), but they made yet another great, emotional Toy Story movie.
Toy Story 4 picks up sometime after Toy Story 3. The toys are getting used to their new kid, Bonnie. Bonnie goes to her first day of kindergarten and the only thing that keeps her calm is a new toy she created out of a spork. Now Woody and the gang must protect this spork from the dangers of the world as that spork is Bonnie’s favorite toy.
Obviously there is a lot of other stuff going on, but I don’t want to spoil the story. Suffice it to say there is some real emotional stuff going on here.
What surprised me as each Toy Story movie often does is just how much comedy is here and how much of it is successful. This is a really funny movie and a lot of the humor is very cute.
Overall, this is another great Toy Story movie in a long line of great Toy Story movies. I want to say that this definitely seems like the final one, but they said that about Toy Story 3. If this movie is financially successful enough, they will inevitably make another one.
