After watching the now cancelled and generally mediocre seasons of Luke Cage and Iron Fist, I worried for this newest season of Daredevil. Luckily, my worries were unfounded. Daredevil season three brings back the quality production values that you saw in seasons one and two. As an aside, don’t go on Yahoo because they put spoilers for this show right onto the front page… those ass hats.
Details: First aired in 2013. Almost all episodes are about eleven minutes long. As of May 7, 2018, there are five seasons and one hundred forty-six episodes. I’ve watched them all. Still currently airing episodes from season five on Cartoon Network. Official site is https://www.cartoonnetwork.com/blog/category/steven-universe
In American animation, there is a long list of television cartoons that appear to appeal to children, but secretly have enough depth for adult audiences. Sometimes they deliberately target adult audiences. Some cartoons that come to mind are Recess, Rick and Morty, Gravity Falls, Adventure Time and even My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. Steven Universe is another one of these cartoons and it does a great job of appealing to children and adults alike. I now understand why fans are so crazy about this show.
Details: Also known as Koe no Katachi or The Shape of Voice. Originally released in 2016. About two hours long. More information can be found at https://myanimelist.net/anime/28851/Koe_no_Katachi
A Silent Voice is a masterful movie that tells a relatively original story that works on multiple levels.

This is not a kid’s show. The art is cute and childish, reminiscent of a Studio Ghibli movie, but this is not a kid’s show. As the episodes progress, the subject matter of the show get darker and more adult. With that said, this show is still a grand adventure that does a great job creating an interesting world and in evoking emotion.
Details: First half aired in 2017 and second half aired in 2018 on Disney XD. Fifteen episode with most episodes at under thirty minutes long. The final episode was around forty-five minutes long.
Star Wars Rebels has come to an end. I am sad to see it go as it has been one of my favorite shows on television.
Details: Released in 2016 on Netflix. About an hour long.
Even though the best stand-up comedy special I’ve seen this year is from Dave Chappelle, Ali Wong comes in a close second. This is one of the best comedy shows I’ve seen in recent memory and, in my opinion, about as funny (though not as controversial) as Dave Chappelle.
Details: Released on Netflix on New Year’s Eve in 2017. Equanimity is a little over an hour-long and The Bird Revelation is a little under an hour long.
Equanimity and The Bird Revelation are the final part that Chappelle agreed to provide Netflix for a record sixty million dollars. I reviewed and enjoyed the last two comedy specials, even though they were obviously performed a substantial amount of time before they aired. This time, we get two shows that are not only immediately relevant to current events, but Bird Revelation is something different from the shows of large, raucous audiences and is instead a more intimate, insightful, but still hilarious show.
