Details: Originally released in 2017. Played through the game in well under two hours. Official site is http://www.giantsparrow.com/games/finch/
The Epiq Games store was giving this game away recently so I decided to give it a play through. What Remains of Edith Finch is game often referred to as a “walking simulator.” You basically walk down a fairly linear path and are told a series of short stories related to the family of Edith Finch. These series of stories are mostly grounded in realism, but touch upon supernatural elements. The biggest draw of this game is just being told a story that unravels the mystery of the Finch family.
Details: This is a review of The Knife of Dunwall and The Brigmore Witches downloadable content. These DLC were originally released in 2013. The Definitive Edition was released in 2015. I purchased Dishonored: Definitive Edition a long time ago for about $8.50 through bundlestars.com, who is now known as fanatical.com I think. The Definitive Edition comes with all the downloadable content. Beat The Knife of Dunwall in about five hours. Beat The Brigmore Witches in about three hours. Played on the PC through Steam.
Score for both The Knife of Dunwall and The Brigmore Witches: 5.9/10
These two DLC’s are the only story based DLC for Dishonored. They were okay.
Details: This is a review of the main game only, not of any of the downloadable content. Originally released in 2012. The Definitive Edition was released in 2015. I purchased Dishonored: Definitive Edition a long time ago for about $8.50 through bundlestars.com, who is now known as fanatical.com I think. The Definitive Edition comes with all the downloadable content. Beat the game in about eleven hours. Played on the PC through Steam.
Dishonored is a first person perspective stealth game. Think Assassin’s Creed from the first person perspective. While mostly fun, the game is a little bare and lacks the gameplay and narrative depth necessary to make this game more than satisfactory. It is still very fun despite its age.
Details: The original game was released in 2011. This edition was released in 2012. Purchased for around six dollars from Steam for the PC. Played for about two hours. The official site is https://deadisland.deepsilver.com/us/dide_us.html
If only the actual game was as good as its debut trailer. Dead Island has the unique distinction of being one of the few games I’ve quit because it gives me motion sickness. I’ve played a lot of first person shooters, but the jankyness and unusual design of the movement made this game unplayable. Save your money. Don’t buy this game.
