TV Show Review: Stranger Things, Season 3

Score: 7/10

I feel like this season of Strangers Things was a lot more fun than the prior seasons. I mean, there was always a bit of fun in the prior seasons, but I feel like this season was a lot more focused and had a lot better pacing. Also, each episode seemingly had something important that dealt with the primary plot line. No episodes with Eleven running off with other powered teenagers in this season. Just some kids fighting a monster. It’s also somewhat easier to sympathize with teenage actors than child actors.

And so, the end to the Netflix-Marvel partnership has unceremoniously arrived. Disney has come out with their own streaming service, which means Netflix has been forced by Disney to shut down all their Disney related shows. Season three of Jessica Jones is the last of these shows. It’s a decent season and a sad farewell to these groundbreaking shows that tried to bring a grittiness to televised superhero fiction.

And so ends the era of Marvel shows on Netflix. There is a lot of misinformation out there, but if you use your common sense, obviously Disney forced Netflix to end all their shows to weaken a competitor in lieu or Disney’s own online streaming service. If you ever needed evidence of what a piece of shit company Disney is, all you have to do is remember they canceled Daredevil.

Anyways, season two of The Punisher is the unlikely swan song for Netflix-Marvel shows. I found the season entertaining and in line with what you’d expect from the character of Frank Castle.

TV Show Review: Voltron: Legendary Defender, Season 8

Details: This is a review of the final season. More information can be found at https://www.netflix.com/title/80075595 and https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5580664/

Score: 6.8/10

Many, many series seem to flub the endings to their stories. They either contradict or forget about developments that were previously established. Season eight of Voltron is guilty of this. Season eight isn’t catastrophic, but it sprints towards a rushed conclusion that ignores much of what was established earlier.
